"She’s so talented and so truthful, incredibly gifted and a very deep and sensitive actor. She has also grown from a beautiful child into a ravishing young lady. Also, that voice is glorious — just seamless. Lea works very hard and is very serious about ‘the work.’

"I’m so proud to be italian, and even more coming here and knowing how wonderful and how kind everyone here is, it makes me even prouder to be italian."

I would tell 17 year olds to be proud of who you are. Don’t try to change yourself for others. Focus on school and your future. Boys and friends will come and go, just focus on yourself and your future.

"It’s a very challenging industry to be in. But for me, at the end of the day, if I didn’t have the family that I have, it would be very different. When I work, I’m at my work. When I come home, I’m not an actor - I am Lea; I am my parents’ daughter. My family sees me as who I am. I think what gets challenging in this industry is that people stop seeing their friend, or daughter, or whatever as who they really are. They just start to see them in this light of their fame that they’re in. But my family never looked at me like that. They see me as who I am. When I’m with them I get so much strength; they make me feel so happy that then when I go to work, I keep wanting to go back and do better and make them proud. But also, it’s what I love - I love making them proud of me."Lea Michele [What keeps you grounded and strong in this business? | Giffoni Interview, 7/20/14] (via girlmworld)

"I did perform in a show on Broadway, called Spring Awakening, before I was on Glee, that was quite dark in what I had to do every night. When that was done, it was so challenging; I was so happy to do Glee, because it was so happy. Now I think I’m ready again to try some more challenging and possibly darker roles. I actually just got something that I’m very excited about, although I can’t say what it is. But it is starting to go down a different path, trying different things. Comedy is what I love. I grew up loving women like Lucille Ball and Barbra Streisand, so that’s really what I love to do. But as an actor, I think it’s so important to always try different things. It’s like strengthening your muscles as an actor."Lea Michele [Giffoni interview, 7/20/14] (via girlmworld)
